One of the 8 finalists of 4th. Svetlanov Conucting Competition, Turkish born conductor Murat Cem Orhan, studied orchestral conducting with Maestro Antonio Pirolli in Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory Istanbul.


Orhan attended to the conducting masterclasses of Maestro Jorma Panula in Poland, Maestro Alparslan Ertungealp in Budapest, Maestro Michel Tabaschnik in Accademia Chigiana Musicale, Maestro Prof. Rengim Gökmen in Izmir and Maestro William Hicks Choir Conductor of Metropolitan Opera in New York . As an Opera Singer he studied with Renato Bruson, Raina Kabaivanska, Sherill Milnes, Ashley Putnam and Catherine Malfitano.


In 2016 made a successful Germany debut with Heidelberg Sinfonietta acclaimed by public and critics with Fazıl Say’s orchestral piece at the Heidelberg Spring Festival. Furthermore, he conducted almost every State Symphony Orchestra in Turkey. In 2019 He has been acclaimed as a conductor for Ankara State Opera House. Orhan has a large scale of Symphonic and Operatic repertory. Recently conducted W.A. Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, W.A. Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte, D. Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto, G. Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’amore, G. Puccini’s Turandot, W.A. Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail and G. Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia.


In addition of his conducting carrier he is a two times first prize winner of N. F. Eczacıbaşı National Composing Competition. (8th and 9th N. F. Eczacıbaşı National Composing Competition. 2010/2012) His compositions are played by State Symphony Orchestras and Opera Houses in Turkey.


As an Opera Singer sung over 15 lead rolls both in US, Europe and Turkey.


Fluent in French, English and Italian, Orhan continues his works in both Istanbul and Ankara.
