Swedish soprano Lisa Fornhammar is an active performer within the field of contemporary music. She has sung roles such as Gepopo and Venus in Le Grand Macabre by Ligeti as well as being a Mozart singer with roles such as Konstanze in Entführung aus dem Serail. Thus, her expressive scale is large, and this is why The Financial Times described her as “a combination of Lulu and Queen of the Night”. As part of the celebration of the Clara Schumann year in 2020 she sang in the concert installattion “Clara in Rückspiegel” in Leipzig, Bonn and at the Cemal Reşit Reyn in Istanbul.


Fornhammar has performed at opera houses such as the Royal Opera Stockholm, Stadttheater Bern, Stadttheater Bielefeld, Cairo Opera House, Stadttheater Aachen, Stadttheater St. Gallen, Oslo Opera House the Finnish National Opera, and Oper Leipzig, among others Europeras by Cage, Amerika, Haubenstock-Ramati and Magnus-Maria, Eriksdottir. She is also active as a concert singer, being one of the first to perform at Elbphilharmonie in 2017 together with Ensemble Recherche (Feldmann). Other concert repertoire  include Sequenza by Berio (Oper Leipzig) Aventure and Nouvelle Aventures by Ligeti (Oper Leipzig) and Stimmung by Stockhausen (Salzburg).


She is a member of the faculty at Universität Mozarteum Salzburg and at Hochschule für Musik Leipzig, teaching contemporary vocal music with singers and composers among her students.
