A Piano in Manhattan album consists of a total of solo piano pieces performed by pianist Emir Gamsız along with the sounds of the streets of Manhattan, New York, where he spent many years, and small stories that attract the attention of the musician about Manhattan. This repertoire of works by Scarlatti, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Schumann and Liszt also includes Prokofiev's fantastic and virtuoso work, Toccata, as a gift. In this album, Emir Gamsız, in a sense, presents the music to the listener with the daily sounds of the street where his studio is located, in response to the fact that the world of recording keeps classical music away from the society with the desire to carry it to more sterile environments and a more sterile communication.
