ABOUT THE WORK:

When Gamsız quit basketball and started piano, one of the first things he discovered about piano was, octave playing technique on the piano is very much like the dribbling technique in basketball. He realized that he practiced octaves for years by playing basketball. The octaves in this little Schumanesque waltz are imitating a basketball player's dribbling and it's dedicated to his brother Emrah Gamsız with whom he grew up playing basketball.
