A Piano in Manhattan album consists of solo piano pieces performed by pianist Emir Gamsız along with the sounds from the streets of Manhattan, New York, where he spent many years, and small stories that attract the attention of the musician about Manhattan. This repertoire of works by Scarlatti, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Schumann and Liszt, also includes Prokofiev's fantastic virtuoso work, Toccata, as a gift. In this album, Emir Gamsız, in a sense, presents the music to the listener with the daily sounds of the streets, in response to the fact that the recording world keeps classical music away from the society with the desire to preserve it in a sterile environment with a sterile communication.
