After she graduated from the department of Landscape Architecture in Istanbul University, Nalan Alaca started her professional career as an illustrator. 

She started “Tasarım Gezegeni (Illustration Planet)” agency with her computer programmer partner in 2007.  They have worked with numerous  big brands in Turkey such as Bilgi Üniversitesi, İstanbul Modern, Turkcell, Avea, Vaillant, Yeditepe Film, Dilan Bozyel, Project House, Manajans, Pets in Turkey, Fugo Bilişim, Nokia Sinema, Mira Müzik. They received numerous awards some of which are; 12.Altın Örümcek Eğitim Kategorisi, FWA Public Shortlist, Awwwards Honorable Mention, CSSDA Css Design Awards, Css Winner, Css Reel.

Nalan Alaca; created the digital advertisement illustrations of two big brands Ülker and Nescafe in Turkey. Her illustrations has been printed in prints such as Radikal Kitap eki, Deniz Mecmuası, Tübitak Bilim Çocuk, Tübitak Meraklı Minik. In 2014, her artistic work was presented at Mixer Gallery’s in an exhibition named “Yarın Yapayalnız (Tomorrow Lonely)”, and her animation in award winning film director Görkem Yeltan’s movie “Bağcık” was praised by the audiences.

Nalan Alaca illustrated more than 50 well-known children’s books in Turkey. She recently illustrated a Turkish celebrity writer Yılmaz Özdil’s series of books about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and a series of books of short stories by actor Engin Akyürek.

Over the years, Nalan Alaca has worked with many publishers in Turkey, including Kırmızı Kedi, Çınar Yayınları, Doğan Egmont, İthaki Çocuk, Final Kültür Sanat, Aylak Adam. Since the beginning of 2020, Alaca started his life long passion of animation movies, teaming up with pianist-composer Emir Gamsız and director, playwright and scriptwriter Ege Maltepe. She started to work on creating the characters of the “Chatty Pianist” animation movie and series of music education animation films in the summer of 2020.
